UMass Dartmouth

This P3 on-campus project offers replacement housing for first-year students and responds to student demand for modernized living-learning communities. This transformational community will foster student engagement with the goal of improving student success - both academically and emotionally. This community includes a robust program for student life and academic support spaces. An 800-seat two-story dining facility is co-located within the residential facility and anchors a portion of the academic quad.

The project was financed with 100% tax-exempt bonds and afforded the University with substantial ground rent and lower cost of capital.

“Our students and our region will benefit from these investments in quality living and learning facilities that will prepare them to succeed in a rapidly changing, highly competitive global economy”.

— Dr. Robert E. Johnson, Chancellor, UMass Dartmouth

His client-centered and collaborative approach brings many stakeholders together throughout this lengthy planning and financing process to maximize the quality of facilities while keeping an eye on student affordability. His financial and business acumen helps solve our most important goals and objectives on these complex projects with competing priorities. His proven ability to stay high level and deep in the details is critical to the success of getting these projects to financial close.”
